  • The 12 litre vat is 325mm long x 265mm wide x 200mm deep, comes with a notched lid and will take up to 12 litres milk.
  • If you are considering this vat, also consider the 8 litre cheese vat and lid, it is the same size as the 8 litre vat but is 50mm shorter and holds 4 litres less milk.
  • The 12 litre vat will make up to 12 x 90mm Camembert in one go or 1.5 kg of Farmhouse Cheddar.

Making cheese prior to the course is not essential but it is very strongly recommended. I have found that over many years of providing cheesemaking courses, having some basic cheesemaking experience before you get to the course is an enormous help with taking in the information provided at the course.
